Welcome to our fiscal sponsor: Women Make Movies
The Rubbish team is pleased to announce that we have been accepted to the Women Make Movies Production Assistance Program.
The program is designed for women identified filmmakers who are actively fundraising for their film and need 501(c)(3) non-profit tax-exempt status, which is required by many foundations, corporations and government agencies in order to be eligible for funding. Additionally, 501(c)(3) status allows Rubbish to receive charitable deductible contributions from individuals—a major incentive for individuals considering making a donation to our project.
While fiscal sponsorship is a component of the program, they also provide a suite of support services such as tailored consultations, discounts to workshops and webinars with leading industry professionals, and other essential resources.
In the last 5 years, WMM’s Production Assistance Program has helped 136 films reach completion and assisted filmmakers in raising more than $28,000,000 from government, foundation, corporate or individual, and crowd-funded sources. Since its inception, the program has been a part of raising almost $100,000,000 and helping more than 1000 films to completion.
We are especially grateful to Women Make Movies Executive Director Debra Zimmermann and Senior Program Associate Kyra Brands for their support of the film and are proud to join the broader community of Women Make Movies.
